Environmental disturbances around the optical fiber will cause changes in the fiber core parameters such as fiber length, diameter, and refractive index, further modulating the backscattered light, resulting in changes in the intensity, phase, frequency, etc. of the scattered light. By establishing the connection between disturbance events and optical signals, the identification and location of disturbance events can be achieved. The AI deep learning neural network algorithm is used to improve the accuracy of identifying broken wires and third-party intrusion events, and reduce the rate of false positives and false negatives.
